Wondering how to survive April Fool’s Day? This year is going to be tricky because even the Easter bunny could pull a prank on you. Notorious pranksters will be motivated to go all out this year, because it’s actually quite rare for Easter to fall on April Fool’s Day. The last time Easter fell on April Fool’s Day was 62 years ago in 1956, so this is very much a once in a lifetime opportunity for hardcore pranksters, but how are you supposed to enjoy Easter if you’re constantly worried about getting pranked? This article will show you how to survive April Fool’s Day.
Let’s say you’ve known your best friend since childhood. They’re the kind of friend that let you copy their answers during a big test and when the teacher got suspicious, they said that they were copying off you and not the other way around, just so that you wouldn’t get into trouble. Sounds like the perfect best friend doesn’t it? DO NOT TRUST THEM. When April Fool’s Day falls on Easter, all bets are off and you must keep a close eye on everyone, especially the people who are close to you. Let your guard down at your own peril!
If it’s at all possible, simply stay at home alone or at least barricade yourself in your room. Do not step out for any reason. If your spouse knocks on your door wanting to give you your all time favorite dish that they spent hours cooking, tell them thanks but no thanks! It may hurt their feelings if they had good intentions, but you can’t be too careful. Just lock your doors, shut your windows and hide under your bed, and you’ll be well on your way to becoming the poster child for how to survive April Fool’s Day!
If you don’t have the luxury of spending April Fool’s Day/Easter alone, then you must prepare yourself for the very worst. You must accept the possibility that the prank someone pulls on you might be so epic that it’ll go viral – especially if it’s caught on video. But more importantly, you must prepare yourself to spot a potential prank because if you see it in advance then you’ll be able to turn the tables around. What could be better than spoiling the fun for a pesky prankster? If possible, try to prank them back – if you see a sibling put something in your meal, switch plates and watch the fun! So pay close attention, especially when you’re sitting down for Easter dinner, and be prepared for anything so that you can react accordingly.
Now that you know how to survive April Fool’s Day, you have a mighty good chance of enjoying Easter. As long as you trust no one, you will not be lulled into a false sense of security. If you can barricade yourself in your room, great! Isolation is a guaranteed survival strategy. But if you do find yourself amongst people, remember to be prepared for anything so that you can react fast enough to avoid getting pranked. Good luck and happy Easter!
